If you are interested in ER work, but nervous, we have the doctors and staff to help make the transition! Our current doctors have many years of experience and are willing and interested in helping to train a new doctor or just a doctor new to Emergency Medicine. The transition to emergency work can be scary, but it is exciting and allows for a lot of time at home since there are longer shifts and blocks of time off each month. Expectation is 12 shifts per month but schedule can be discussed based on your needs and part time applicants are welcome! Our schedule gives the best of emergency medicine with some day, swings, nights and expectation of every other weekend off! With our team approach to schedule, we usually have the same 3 docs on the weekend, so we really can get into a groove. You will be an addition to our doctor team and that means we will be adding more daytime shifts into the rotation. With blocking of shifts and a DVM apartment area, even commuting is very feasible!
AEC Rockford is hiring a part time or full time veterinarian to add to the 5 full time and 4 part time veterinarians on our team. We are a privately owned, 24 hour hospital. We have been running with 2 doctors on most of the busiest times! We have been a full service night and weekend emergency hospital servicing northern Illinois for over 20 years and entered into the 24/7 world in 2020. We have the toys, tools and staff to allow you to practice high quality medicine and surgery with ability to make a great living and have time to enjoy life!

Expected commission pay of experienced DVM $300,000 to $400,000 with more possible! We can do a guarantee with production bonus based on experience if that is desired. Signing bonus is negotiable!
Full IDEXX lab, with Heska point of care and coagulation units, digital radiology new in 2025 with movable arm for standing views, and ultrasound on premises. We have 2 incubators, 3 ICU units and can hook up 3 nasal O2 cannulas at one time... And sometimes we do! We have an isolation ward with a negative pressure room that can hold 6 pets including 2 large runs.
A brand new 10,000 sq foot building in 2022 is beautiful with DVM offices and designated desk spaces!
Ezyvet software program allows for many templates to make record writing easier. Dictation software available if desired. VetRadar Electronic treatment sheets have templates and perform most of the billing.
Well trained staff with technicians school trained or certified!
Additional Salary Information: Work 12 shifts per 4 weeks, Health insurance, 3% matching retirement, $2500/year CE, pet care discount, licenses, VIN.com membership, VECCS membership, AVMA membership, GRVMA (local veterinary group that puts on CE) membership, other benefits are negotiable.
