The Opportunity: Are you an experienced veterinarian feeling capped in your current role, or burned out by the production quotas and shortened appointment times of the current corporate consolidation model?
I am currently in the early planning stages of opening a new, state-of-the-art independent veterinary clinic on the North Shore, and I am searching for a highly skilled local veterinarian to step into the Founding Medical Director role.
This practice is being built and backed by a highly successful local healthcare entrepreneur. We understand exactly what it takes to build a premium, high-efficiency clinical culture from the ground up—and we know that it starts by letting doctors be doctors.
The Model: You Practice Medicine. We Run the Business. We operate under a structure designed to give you the financial upside of practice ownership without the initial capital risk or operational headaches.
Your Domain: You will retain absolute autonomy over clinical protocols, the standard of care, and have direct input (or control, if desired) over medical staffing and equipment selection.
Our Domain: Our management organization (owned 100% initially by myself - no corporate or PE involvement) handles 100% of the business operations, real estate build-out, HR, marketing, payroll, and administration.

Requirements
Requirements & Qualifications:
Credentials: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) in good standing, with an active (or eligible) Illinois state license.
Clinical Experience: Ideally 3+ years of clinical experience in small animal general practice. (Previous experience as a Lead Veterinarian or Medical Director is a plus, but not strictly required for a highly capable associate ready to step up).
Medical Proficiency: A strong foundation in general medicine, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry, with a commitment to practicing high-quality, evidence-based medicine.
Leadership Mindset: The desire to actively mentor associate doctors, collaborate with support staff, and set the clinical tone for the hospital.
The "Owner" Mentality: You do not need business experience—we handle that. But you must possess an entrepreneurial spirit, a desire for total clinical autonomy, and the drive to build a practice culture you are proud of.
